The setting is 1851, in the California mountains. A beautiful young woman lives in a hidden cabin with her father above a mining town. In their naïveté, they open their doors to a weary traveler- alas, he turns out to be a bandit, going from town to town, robbing each of all their gold before slipping away to the next one. He charms the young woman, til she thinks she’s found love- but that night, as she and her father rest, he slits their throats and robs them, too. The ghost of the girl’s father found peace on the other side, but she is forever trapped in the cabin, where she lures in bandits from all over the mountains, asks them to stay the night, and slays them as they slumber.
